i have a super self-indulgent fire emblem modern au that brings me comfort during hard times and I suppose I could share it with u guys, maybe even draw it if I ever have the time...
But like, as you know, in canon marth marries caeda and chrom+lucina & lissa+owain & emmeryn are their descendants and their great great great great great great (add more greats) grandkids right
Anyway i just love the idea of a modern au where marth&caeda are chrom+lissa+emmeryn’s parents (lissa and emm can be adopted or the blonde gene is recessive idk) and like, lucina is grandpa marth’s fave and owain is grandma caeda’s fave and idk I just love the idea of all of them as a fam lmao
marth & caeda being like, super famous and also well known, marth is like a huge celebrity everywhere, like maybe an a-list actor with like 10 oscars and 20 nominations lmao caeda is like an actress too and they met on the set of a movie and everyone's obsessed with them lmao
emmeryn followed in their footsteps and is also a mega celebrity but went into politics, like she even becomes president at some point, while chrom+lissa try to keep a low profile for their kids’ sakes
I think chrom suffering from the tony hawk syndrome would be absolutely hilarious lmao like he is a nepotism baby cause his parents are MARTH and caeda and is like idk a famous actor and yet no one recognizes him ever lmao he marries robin who is his manager and people recognize robin more than him
meanwhile lissa is like the only one of the marth×caeda kids who isn't an actor or into politics and yet SHE is recognized everywhere unlike chrom lmao
LMAO OK BUT
lucina bringing severa to meet her grandparents for the holidays and she’s like “honey pls don’t freak out” and severa’s like “why would I—OHMYGOD IS THAT MARTH LOWELL?!?!”
marth signing an autograph on a napkin for severa during dinner, though
Also severa awkwardly meeting chrom (her father-in-law lmao) and telling him he is her mom's celebrity crush kdbdjd
#This got so long kfbfkf BUT I'VE BEEN THINKING ABOUT MY MARTH FAMILY MODERN AU ALL EVENING#have i ever told y'all thr marth family line is my favorite thing ever in the fire emblem universe#completely obsessed over marth and caeda and lucina and chrom and lissa and owain#like OBSESSED#they rotate my mind every second of the day#gonna tag this i apologize in advance#fire emblem shadow dragon#fire emblem awakening#i could go on about this au FOR HOURS#miry's yapping

With Lucina’s birthday approaching, I keep thinking about how Chrom and Robin handled the birth. Do they panic? Does Chrom faint from seeing what’s happening to his poor wife? How much do they cry once they’re holding their baby? Does Chrom even get to hold her, or is he too scared of breaking the baby? Who came up with names? How much more competent are they when it’s Morgan’s turn to be born?
Okay, I should send the ask before I come up with too many more questions lol
Oh gosh 🥹 feeling very soft from contemplating all of this. Let’s see…
I definitely think they panicked when they first found out. Not because it wasn’t planned or because they weren’t over the moon (for whatever reason, I tend to imagine they actually had to try for a little while before Robin got pregnant) but more that when she finally was, and they realized that it was real and actually happening, they both felt newly aware of the challenges ahead. There would be a LOT of eyes on them, and neither of them have good memories of their parents to draw from (at least in the present timeline) so I imagine that would amplify their nerves a lot too
This is more pregnancy related than it is about Lucina’s actual birth, but I feel like Chrom is probably insufferably hovery and doting during the entire pregnancy. Like—his protective instincts are just going haywire LOL, which Robin cycles between finding very sweet and exasperating. She has to keep reminding Chrom that she’s not made of glass and that in most respects, she’s still totally capable of taking care of herself. At some point Chrom and Frederick are both fussing around the room trying to account for her every need and she’s like Oh gods, there’s two of them now
Carrying over from that, I think Chrom would be nearly sick with nerves once the actual birth was happening. I imagine him wanting to stay by Robin’s side and hold her hand through the whole thing but he’s so anxious and over involved that the midwives or whoever wind up having to bodily drag him out adghdk. I don’t necessarily think he would faint but I DO think he would wear some grooves into the floor from pacing so furiously outside the door.
As far as crying goes, Chrom would start crying the second he’s allowed in and sees Robin holding Lucina. Just like quietly leaking tears with the biggest smile on his face. Robin I think wouldn’t be teary at first, just exhausted and content, but when she sees Chrom crying it would get a tear or two out of her too.
Chrom would be scared / hesitant to hold Lucina at first even though he would REALLY want to. But Robin would talk him into it by reminding him how good he is at being gentle with her when he needs to be <3 side note, but given how much Chrom adores his sisters and how much admiration he has for a lot of the women in his life, I think he would be really excited about having a daughter 💙
Names…names are tricky. I feel like common fandom head canon is that Lucina is a family name from somewhere on Chrom’s side. I do like that idea, though I’m partial to Robin actually having been the one who comes up with it. Possibly after digging through old history books on Chrom’s family tree. Actually, I think I read a fic about that once. I’ll add a link if I can find it.
As for Morgan, I do enjoy the headcanon that his name is a derivation of Robin’s mom’s. Robin would have remembered her mom in the original timeline so it works in that regard. Kind of as a cute converse to Lucina, I like the idea of Chrom having been the one to suggest Morgan’s name be what it is
In terms of how much more competent they are the second time around, in a lot of ways I’m sure they do have a much better sense of what they’re doing. Robin probably read a ton of parenting books while she was pregnant the first time, but experience is a teacher all its own afterall. That being said, I’m partial to the idea of Chrobin having Morgan twins in the good timeline and if that’s the case, there’s twice the number of babies and twice the chaos to manage. Really putting their parenting chops to the test :’)
Alright, I think I hit all of them! Thank you (as always) for such a delightful ask! I tend to mostly write about pining stage Chrobin, so it was fun having a reason to daydream about them as new parents <3 I do love their whole blueberry family so very much

its honestly really funnny looking back at my first fea playthrough where i wanted to go mrobin originally but since his character customization was mid i went w frobin instead. wild how i almost didnt marry chrom on my first playthrough and not experience how the story immediately went into a 50% more tragic direction w her being lucinas mom that made me like the game much more than i otherwise would have lol
#not art#i enjoy chrobin regardless of gender but its crazy how i almost missed out on the best lucinas judgement scene if i did go mrobin lmao#btw when i say i wouldve not liked fea as much back then i mean... going off as fe3h being my only fe game at that point

MORGAN HEADCANON POST!!!
so i have posted my elaborate “the robins are separate entities and siblings” headcanons and i think i’ve said too many damn times that i wanna extend a similar headcanon post for morgan and now it is TIME!!
(im also a lot less nervous sharing this time teehee)
more info about the guys under the cut :]
morgan
the girl one
robin’s adopted daughter. parents died after grima goes bananas and robin decided to take her under his wing. i like to think robin held out a little longer than the rest of the shepherds once the apocalypse started so he was able to teach morgan what he knew. plus she self taught herself magic and tactics using his notes even when he’s dead
can be blunt, hates being the butt of the joke, but has a pretty dry and witty sense of humor. sometimes clashes with lucina’s inability to pick up on jokes
since she was a kid when grima goes bad, she is the oldest among the second gen. older than lucina by a few years perhaps
has a close sisterly relationship with lucina. she and lucina sort of reflect robin and chrom’s relationship in the group, with the exalted leader having a wise magic man by their side. given the situation in their family tree (though morgan is adopted, she is still lucina’s cousin) i’d refrain from defining it as anything romantic (besides i hc lucina to be aroace anyway. queerplatonic relationship, perchance)
since morgan was only able to cross paths with lucina and the rest of the second-gen shepherds through her adoption from robin, it is unlikely that she will meet lucina in the good future or at least have the same very close relationship with lucina since she’ll be raised by her bio parents. (one may argue that none of the second-gen shepherds will meet or form a close band without the backdrop of acopalyptic bonding in the good timeline, but the point is that morgan will live a significantly different upbringing if the grima threat is taken care of). lucina sometimes worries about this possibility, but morgan’s conviction to change the future for the better is stronger than this uncertainty. this conviction was also probably inspired by lucina’s drive to change fate
ngl this is all i have unfortunately 😭 but i do wanna work with her more, especially her relationship with lucina
marc
the boy one
chrom and reflect (girl robin)’s son from… a different future. he does not hail from the same doomed timeline as lucina and the rest of the kiddos. instead, he’s from a timeline where grima was vanquished with the falchion (keeping reflect/the vessel alive). he was born shortly after the war ended (though in actuality he’s born after chrom and friends leave smash bros but that’s a whole other can of worms)
the youngest of the future kids
due to his unawareness of the apocalyptic future and grima in general, he has a much more jovial attitude compared to the rest of the kids
brash and a bit of a jock
has a little bit of aptitude in magic from his mom, but he has no interest in actually touching a book
lucina (and the rest of the kids) were confused about this guy’s existence and why he was sent to the past but they embrace him as one of their own anyway (he still doesn’t really know what’s going on)
tbh i have even less going on with him, but i think exploring the silly sibling dynamic he’ll have with lucina should be fun in future projects
his design is kinda messy atm, i do not know if ill fully settle on the one here idk
OH and lastly: his mark of the exalt has not surfaced yet at his age, but i think it’ll appear on either the back of his right hand (like the defile brand) or on his upper back (jojo reference). or maybe even in his right eye like inigo (but that sorta feels like his thing so i don’t wanna rip it off lmao)
anyway that’s it!! i’m kinda pressed for time rn but i wanted to get this out before i forgot lmao!! will edit if needed ough

pt3!
oh lucina we're really in it now
LOVE lucina. i said that before but it bears repeating. like, i'll never do a tier list ranking of all fire emblem characters because that'd be absurd (sweats nervously), but lucina is way, way up there for me with Lyn and Eirika, so TAKE NOTE OF THAT
chrobin is where it's at. FINE. FINE!!!! look, when i played the game the first time, i was male!robin and i married sumia because i thought their supports were like, idk. nice. however. chrom/robin makes this entire game make a lot more sense writing-wise. don't get me wrong, i think it's nice that you get a choice (and choices are part of the fun with FE shipping anyway) but the pairing feels very eliwood/ninian-like to me. like this is the ship the writers were largely writing the game around.
(and it makes sense for maximum impact reasons, too.)
lucina saying that she's from a future "at least ten years hence" is so fucking dumb and silly. just make that twenty and it sounds better. "at least ten" is just nonsense. i wonder if that was a translation error. my best guess would be that she says "ten years" because some of the adults die when Lucina is around 10.
i cried when lucina reunited with her parents, though. hugs her mom??? fuck my life. it got me good. i didn't expect to be obliterated.
i've found a few clumsy missteps in the writing. i won't call them mistakes. but kjelle for example tells sully that all she has is this ring to help her locate her parents (which could be really interesting if the game wanted us to imagine that sully and her chosen spouse died early on and kjelle never knew them well) but the second Sully's like yo kid that's MY ring! kjelle's like oh you're as beautiful as you were in my time! and then ten seconds later in their support she's like, also you trained me all the time!
HUH? then what the fuck do you MEAN you only have a ring?! do you or do you not know your mother on sight? yeah she's a good bit younger here, but it's not a substantial change whatsoever! c'mon.
this is perhaps an issue of the kids only being like 15 to 20 years old or whatever, because that means their parents all died pretty young, yet, and frankly most people don't look that different at 20 than they do at 40. (some do, and that could have been interesting to explore or even have mentioned in supports. like oh in the future you wear your hair long/short, you had a lot of wrinkles, your hair was greying, whatever. but of course, iirc we never really get that.)
truly abysmal when you think about it.
also it's really fucking stupid to imagine that all the kids came WITH lucina and she was unable to find aNY OF THEM (and none of them found her) for more than TWO YEARS?! HUH? i'm not saying it's impossible because of course the kids dumped on another continent might have struggled to make it over to the ylisse, but they all went into the past with a goal in mind and you're telling me NOBODY ELSE SHOWED UP TO HELP LUCINA? ???? ?
or like, did they show up to help at some point we're not privy to and lucina sent them on their way because she stopped the initial assassination attempt of emmeryn?
but then, after emmeryn died anyway you'd think she'd have hovered around too? that several kids would have done that??? IDK
don't get me wrong, i like the way lucina in general is written. that she comes to the past to meddle but doesn't want to meddle too much--that she has the mask to obscure her identity--and that this feels very much like something she and gerome were (at one point) on the exact same page about is REALLY GOOD. like it feels like their adventure to the past was planned and that they had dates and goals and points of interest to look at.
it makes her leaving make perfect sense, since she didn't want to alter history too much. gives her character some real oomph because you know when she finally joins up with her parents again that she wanted desperately the whole time to speak to them as such and know them as such but didn't for the greater good.
and REALLY, her holding off on introducing herself is probably how she ended up being born in the past timeline. technically her altering history means she still shouldn't have been born at all, lol, but i like the idea that she's been born in this timeline too but maybe won't look exactly the same or even won't act exactly the same--this lucina will be her own person, in part because history was rewritten, but also because there's just no way she was conceived 100% the same.
the game doesn't go over it TOO MUCH iirc, but i feel like most of the other kids won't end up being born at all since they reveal themselves before it actually happens. i'm sure fandom's played with that a lot, though. i also like the idea a lot in general, because in their staunch attempts to not alter too much, they kind of end up at a point where they're writing themselves out of history.
lucina's the biggest example of that, of course, being the exalt in her own time. going back into the past and altering things, and letting herself be born first--that means she'll never be exalt again. she's just a regular person.
the truly whack thing about lucina is that nobody would have believed her claim until her own birth, so it's almost like... idk how to explain this but. i'm thinking about how lucina and owain (and morgan, when chrobin is there) have the exalt's brand, but who the fuck would have believed they were CHILDREN OF CHROM AND LISSA until after lucina's born again in the past? nobody!
it's truly wild to think that if lucina had introduced herself immediately, everyone would have easily believed she was a long lost (perhaps illegitimate) sister of chrom and lissa, but no one would have believed her claim about being from the future. because baby lucina is born with the brand in her eye, which has to be completely unique, this is the ONLY thing to really back up lucina's claim to a degree that it cannot be refuted.
falchion helps but like, you can't convince me an imitation could not have been forged by a good blacksmith? lol
technically contact lenses could have done the eye thing, but with lucina newly born it's very possible word of her brand's location is pretty locked down yet, which makes lucina's claim stronger.
ANYWAY
weird that lucina doesn't mention morgan when she introduces herself for real. weird that she's not worried sick about him. i feel like a lot of this is just a product of having tons of marriage options and not being able to account for literally every single one, which has the unfortunate side effect of morgan just feeling kind of tacked on in the overarching narrative.
i'm still having a pretty good time playing at least. not sure how long that will last, but i keep getting distracted by side objectives and the kids' paralogues. (as ya do).
lon'qu/lissa + owain has been picked up. i forgot entirely about lissa's brand not showing. the bit with owain having it got me a bit emotional though for lissa's sake. like her getting that validation/reassurance out of ABSOLUTELY NOWHERE had to feel insane, esp after so many years of insecurity.
cherche/vaike achieved, but i have yet to go scoop up gerome. i'll grab him today though. i still really like these supports. cherche and vaike are both characters that are hard pills to swallow in some of their supports (neither of them are particularly likable) but in their supports with one another they're both perfectly fine. fun, even. vaike saying minerva's part of the family is my favorite part. like of course she is!!! and him playing with her and getting scratched up and having fun anyway?? end me
frederick/cordelia got. (don't let that person on reddit who hates this ship find out LOL!!!) i also picked up severa who kept trying to off herself in her paralogue. (girl. PLEASE.) fuck dude i love the dynamic this pairing creates with severa. part of it is because i don't really like severa (and never did), but i do find her a really interesting character. her bitterness that her parents kept fighting for chrom until the bitter end, and how she takes this so, so personally??? UGHHHHHHH END ME.
i do wish the frederick/cordelia s support wasn't QUITE as dumb as it is. i'm fine with the unrequited love stuff (it's interesting) but it's just a tad too overblown. i think they were going for "funny" but like, it's not. there's something really good in that support but it gets buried under the dumb shit imo.
honestly? they just needed another support in there to address that. or something. idk i won't waste everyone's time talking about it now but just know that i have a lot of thoughts!!!
gregor/maribelle was also achieved. haven't picked up brady yet. this support chain wasn't anything splendid but it was okay?
pairing up everyone else is going to be hard lmao.

I adore awakening but also I am *this* close to learning how to code because a) I know realistically when you’re pushing a game out you can’t make unique supports for every possible parent/child combination (on the father’s & Lucina’s mom’s part) but the amount of repeats is super boring (same goes for the Lucina sibling supports) and b) it was super disappointing to play the endgame of awakening and have no comment on the avatar’s decisions from either their kid(s) or their spouse and I think that’s really weird. And Lucina’s mom gets kinda pushed to the side no matter who she is so I guess I’d give her more of a presence idk. Also if you have a 3ds please for the love of Naga hack it so you can install the gay awakening mod and have all your gay dreams come true

For the ship ask meme: Chrobin! If you've already answered that, Frederobin?
Ship It
What made you ship it?
Awakening was my first FE game and I was a teenager, I think I initially shipped it because I thought Chrom was cute and funny. They have the jock/nerd dynamic going on. But now I ship it because I'm a sucker for a good tragedy.
2. What are your favorite things about the ship?
They're soulmates, they're two sides of the same sword. But Robin is also destine to kill Chrom. I love the idea of soul mates in fiction, individual choice aside, destiny is pushing you to one person, for better or for worse. Especially in a game like fire emblem which deals the themes of choice and decision but what if they don't get a choice in each other? They're Naga and Grima, they're bound together. Romantically or platonically, they're each other's other half. They need each other, they're holding on to each other so tight it leaves bruises. And no matter what, their path lead to each other to their death.
And Lucina and Morgan, my sweet children!! Not only does it make Lucina's past more tragic but they're just so sweet together. Morgan is the annoying carefree little brother who can't remember any of his trauma and Lucina is the big sister who needs to protect his innocence. I totally think Grima got to Morgan in the original timeline and Lucina was holding on to the guilt for years. I imagine she refused to talk about him even when she was reunited with her dad and mom, the memory was just too pain. All the other child units probably knew better than to speak his name. And the relief she felt when they found him, sweet and naive and a child like he once was? A do over on her greatest failure. A second chance to keep him safe. Not only does Lucina get to protect him, but he makes Lucina laugh. He lets her also be a kid.
3. Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship?
f!chrobin is the same as m!chrobin, y'all are just misogynist >.< "But their support is bett--" I don't care! f!Robin/m!Robin are the same person! Dingus aside!!!

On the one hand my sleep deprived brain wants to do a future kid au for Tokyo Debunker but base the kid off of Lucina instead of Morgan and like... that's cute and all but
I don't have time
I would probably make it so that this kid was named something really fucking dumb like Macy because haha get it it's close to mc *shot*
I don't think the tdb timeline really allows for a bad future in which a child could be born. It would more be like the kid comes from a good timeline that was infected by the Kyklos from this one slipping through the cracks somehow. She is processing the trauma of losing her family in real time as she navigates being at Darkwick
The institute would absolutely know who she is and maybe try to run tests on her. Maybe she makes a deal with Dante to not get turned in?
If a new girl shows up on campus Ed, Rui, and Kaito would try hitting on her. Could you imagine the ick knowing that was your dad?
Zenji. Just imagine having this wonderful family and then your dad is already a fucking ghost by the time he meets your mom. If he'd even be part of the au at all.
We don't have all the information I'd want yet weirdly enough bah I need to sleep

A/N: For the Our Future: Awakening Trio Fanzine! I know they all get endings of staying in Nohr/taking back people with them/going back to the future, and I reject all of those endings. You’re all sticking to your game and friends/family, there will be no bittersweet one-way ticket partings under my watch.

1.
Owain grunted as lunged forward, his sword slashing a Risen in half. The demonic being let out a guttural call before falling, its dark energy dissipating in the wind. As he straightened, he glanced around the abandoned plaza. Broken stalls and blood-stained cobblestone were all that remained of a once thriving marketplace. Where customers used to throng, the bodies of the Risen lay, broken and bloodied from the onslaught. His friends stood nearby, panting as they put away their weapons.
There were no other enemies around.
Perfect.
“Our foe is vanquished and yet my blood is still boiling,” Owain growled, clutching his arm. His nails dug into his wrist for dramatic effect, his sword shaking as his arm trembled. “This curse lusts for more death.”
“Yes, the market is clear,” Lucina replied simply, flicking the blood off her sword before sheathing it once more. She wiped her cheek, smearing it red from a cut. With tired eyes, she studied the skies. “I don’t think there will be any reserves coming in to fight.”
“My hand must wait another day,” Owain bemoaned. Sheathing his sword, he stretched his hand to the sky. “If only—” he took a step back, “if only—”
Another step back and he tripped over a loose stone. Before he could react, he’d fallen flat on his rear, the wind knocked out of him. It hurt more than he’d expected and Owain winced, momentarily pulled out of the act. “Ouch!”
Worried, Lucina quickly approached and knelt beside him. Her hands hovered over his chest, as though she didn’t know where to touch. “Are you hurt?”
“N-no.” Owain gave a shaky smile. Now that he’d fallen, he’d lost all strength in his legs. The battle must have worn him out more than he’d expected. “The energy toll has been taken and now I must recover.”
Lucina stared at him for a long moment before sighing and nodding. “Right. If you can talk like that, I suppose you’re fine.”
She didn’t get up, instead opting to sit down next to him. Legs stretched out in front of her, she turned her face to the sky and closed her eyes, relishing the cool breeze. It was rare for his cousin to relax, rarer for her to actually stay still. Lucina never admitted when she was tired, though he knew better than anyone just how much she did.
For once, he was content to remain quiet. Owain took a deep breath, ignoring his smarting behind as he studied their surroundings. He’d been to a marketplace when he was younger; he could still remember the bright colours and endless chatter, the mouth-watering smells and taste of fresh fruit.
None of that was here. None of that had been in any marketplace for a decade, at least. Grima destroyed congregation places and markets were the first to go. Still, it felt eerie to sit somewhere so open that was also so empty and quiet. It made him homesick for a life that was no longer his.
“It’s quiet,” Lucina muttered, echoing his thoughts.
“Not even a ghost in sight,” Owain replied, still looking at a broken stall, the posts splintered from the fight.
“It’ll change,” Lucina replied, clenching and unclenching her fists. Her shoulders were still tense, as though she was prepared for the next battle. “When we get all the stones and the shield together, when we go back, it’ll change.”
Despite her words, she didn’t sound confident. Owain turned to her, his expression serious. “We’ll reverse fate itself, fighting gods and devils alike.”
Lucina took it all in stride, used to his proclamations by now. “I’ll save my father.” She hesitated, a dark cloud crossing her face. Quietly, she stated, “We’ll kill Grima.”
But Grima wasn’t just Grima.
“What about your mom?” he asked before he could stop himself.
Lucina flinched. “That…I…I don’t know.” Her hand reached up, clutching her chest, and she hunched forward slightly. “No, I do know, but…it aches.”
His chest ached too. Robin had been the fun aunt, the one who went along with his mother’s pranks and Owain’s dramatics. He reached down, gripping Lucina’s other hand. Her skin felt hot, like it was barely containing the multitude of emotions within. “Are you sure? There must be another way.”
“No, I have to.” Lucina shook her head, though her hand turned and she clasped him back. “There are no choices. We only have one chance at this and this…killing her…it’s the only option we know the outcome of. Anything else might change things for the worse.”
“Oh.” Owain didn’t know what else to say about that. And really, what could he say? Grima was their enemy, the cause of all this destruction. And Grima was Robin, was Lucina’s mom, was the woman who used to sneak them candies when they were little.
There were no good options here, just decisions and regrets.
Lucina’s hand trembled in his and Owain squeezed tightly. If that was her choice, then his was to stick by her side. He cracked a smile and puffed his chest. “Grima won’t escape my evil eye. My blood howls for a fight and we will hunt the demon through the abyss of time till we sate my lust.”
It was a small smile, but she smiled nonetheless. “You almost sound like a villain.”
“I’m an anti-hero,” Owain corrected, remembering his arguments with Cynthia. “The dark protagonist who leaves bodies in my wake.”
2.
“Darling,” Camilla said softly, her right-hand cradling Severa’s jaw. Her thumb lightly stroked her cheek as she smiled. “Be a dear and wait here.”
Severa frowned grumpily. If there was one thing she hated about being Camilla’s retainer, it was that her master seemed to forget what retainer meant. It had been the same with Lucina; whether it was the world of the Risen or the country of Nohr, Severa worked for lords who didn’t care for personal safety.
It was annoying and mildly insulting. Nohr didn’t have possessed corpses loitering about, but it did have thugs and ruffians of every stripe lingering in the shadows and hiding in the corners. Add in a war with Hoshido, and who knew what the enemy would do? A smart one would assassinate, and it was more than easy to find a willing killer even here in the heart of the capital. These underground markets that Camilla and Elise liked to frequent were full of dark, shady alleys for mischief to occur.
And even then, Camilla just wanted Severa to wait here while she wandered around unaccompanied?
Well, not entirely unaccompanied. Elise and Corrin were there, but the former wasn’t a fighter by any stretch of the imagination and the latter still had ties with the enemy. At least Azura wasn’t here; just looking at her gave Severa a headache. Nothing had been simple since Corrin returned from Hoshido and Anankos’s already complicated quest was getting worse.
“Absolutely not,” Severa growled, glaring darkly at their surroundings. “It’s not safe here.”
“Beruka’s here too,” Camilla pointed out, her attention now turning to her other retainer. She stroked the ex-assassin’s short hair. “You won’t let anything happen, would you, darling?”
Beruka snorted and shook her head. Short and stocky as she was, she could disappear entirely at will. “Of course not.”
Elise tugged on Camilla’s arm, impatient as ever. “Can we go now?”
“Yes, just a moment.” Camilla wrapped her arms around Corrin and planted a kiss on her sister’s forehead. “You’ll wait here too, right? It’s a little hard to pick a surprise gift if the receiver is there.”
Corrin sighed and patted Camilla’s arm. “Yeah, yeah, I get it.”
“Great!” Camilla smiled and squeezed Corrin once. Then she gracefully stepped back, pivoted, and hooked her arm through Elise’s. “Now, where shall we go first?”
“See you later,” Elise chirped, waving at Corrin. “You’ll love the gift.”
“I’m sure I will…” Corrin waved back as she watched her sisters’ disappear into the milling crowds. Her smile dropped along with her hand, and she sighed. “Why did I have to come if they didn’t need me”
“Don’t ask me,” Severa grumbled, not happy that she was alone with Corrin of all people. Beruka had already melted into the shadows, the traitor. She glanced around with an appraising eye, though she couldn’t catch hide nor tail of her partner.
It was strange how home-like Nohr was. When she’d first arrived, she’d been startled by the sheer amount of people and noise. Everything was more. And yet, the more time she spent here, the more she realized it was just like her desolate home. Even without a dragon and the Risen, the country was as quiet as the grave. There were few festivals, fewer celebrations, and it seemed like the king was doing all he could to stamp out the very concept of happiness. Even the markets were held underground, away from prying eyes.
Perhaps Hoshido would be different. From what she’d heard, it was a more open, honest place.
But she wasn’t assigned to that country, and they were at war. Festive towns were best left to her memories and imagination.
“Penny for your thoughts, Selena,” Corrin asked hesitantly.
Severa snorted. Was the princess trying to become friends? “They’re more expensive than that.”
“Two pennies?” Corrin tried again.
Severa gave her a dry look. Was she dense or just stubborn? Not that Severa could answer her anyways—it wasn’t like she could talk about her home over tea. It was better to just change the topic and steer the conversation to safer waters. “Why are you here?”
With a slightly sheepish expression, Corrin scratched her cheek. “I want to know why too. They don’t need me to pick out a gift and by the time they’re done, we’ll probably have to head back. I could have just stayed in the castle.”
“No, not that,” Severa cut in, irritated. “Here. Nohr. Not Hoshido.”
“Oh. That.” Corrin froze mid scratch. She lowered her gaze, pondering the question. Gnawing her lip, she mumbled, “That’s…well….”
“You could have stayed there,” Severa pointed out snidely. It had rankled her, how easily Corrin had abandoned Hoshido, how she had hesitated before taking Xander’s hand. Nothing about it sat right with her, though she couldn’t pinpoint why. Was it a matter of loyalty? Family?
Maybe she was projecting and being a little mean. No one had ever accused Severa of being nice.
“I could have,” Corrin agreed, clasping her hands in front of her. She shifted her weight uncomfortably, her shoulders hunching slightly as she looked around. “They were nice there. They treated me like family.”
Severa scowled. “You are family.”
“Right.” Corrin rubbed her head, sighing. “That hasn’t really sunk in yet. Still, yeah. They’re family.”
“And yet you’re here.” She hated it when people beat around the bush.
“And yet I’m here,” Corrin repeated, her gaze turning to her two sisters as they stood in front of a stall. “Because they are my family too. They always will be. It’s greedy of me, but I want both. I still think there’s a way to unite everyone.”
It hit too close to home. Severa should have expected that, yet a pang of homesickness flooded her. Worse yet, she wasn’t sure where she was homesick for. That empty world, scarred and broken? The past that wasn’t hers, with facsimiles of her family?
A Cordelia that wasn’t her Cordelia, a mom that was both hers and not. A warmth that wasn’t for her but was hers nonetheless.
Anankos’s had offered them a path home when they finished here. It was obvious where Owain and Inigo wanted to go, but Severa wasn’t so sure. Even now, she couldn’t say where she was thinking when she thought of home, of going back.
Or if she even wanted to go back.
Who was she to question Corrin’s loyalties when her own were torn? Severa gripped her sleeve. “That’s greedy. You can’t have it all. At some point, you have to choose.”
“You too, huh? I expected as much.” Corrin rubbed her wrist and sighed. Her eyes were still on her sisters and her expression softened. “I did make my choice already. The rest is wishful thinking…we all need a goal.”
Severa followed her gaze. “Do you regret it?”
“Sometimes.” Corrin replied, longing clear in her voice. “But like you said, a choice had to be made and I would make it again. I don’t think I could ever turn away Xander’s hand. Nor would I ever want to. Just…” Her fingers curled into a fist and she smiled sadly. “If I can, I still want to grasp their hands too. I wanted to spend more time with them, to become a real family.” Her brow furrowed and she straightened slightly. “No, I will do it. I won’t give up on them too.”
“They’re trying to kill us,” Severa pointed out.
Corrin shook her head. “I still have to try, that’s what family does.”
Severa knew that look, that tone. Lucina had had the same one when Naga had offered them a single chance to change everything. It took courage to try. Begrudgingly, she had to respect Corrin.
That didn’t make it any less a pipe dream.
“If you say so,” Severa muttered.
3.
Inigo felt nauseous. It was hard not to when he peeked through the curtains, at the hoards of people walking through the marketplace. Families held their children’s hands, couples clung to one another, and friends teased each other as they moved from stall to stall.
His world hadn’t been this crowded. Nohr hadn’t been this crowded. Inigo hadn’t thought it was possible for this many people to be in one place in the first place; maybe he should have visited Hoshido, if only to prepare himself for this sight. The stark difference between the Ylisse of the future and the Ylisse of the present reminded Inigo once again that he was a man out of time.
And now, he had to perform in front of those people. He should never have agreed to this in the first place.
“Inigo?” Olivia asked, her normally quiet voice loud on the empty stage.
He glanced at the crowds once more before letting go of the curtain, letting the cotton cloth fall into place. Turning back to his mother, he watched as she nervously readjusted her clothing, her fingers moving to still her mind. It was a tactic he’d used before and it sometimes surprised him to see what traits of his were his mother’s, which were his father’s.
It was something he’d never gotten a chance to think about in the future, not deeply.
“Don’t worry,” Olivia said, forcing a smile as she turned her bracelet. Her words would have been more reassuring if she didn’t radiate fear.
Somehow, seeing her like that helped calm him down. Inigo smiled as he approached his mother. “It’s our first performance together, what is there to worry about?”
Olivia blinked owlishly and slowly looked up at him. She giggled softly. “You must get that confidence from your father.”
He wondered about that. “He wishes I’d use it better.”
“He just wants what’s best for you. So do I.” Olivia reached forward and squeezed his hand with both of hers, sandwiching his palm between hers. “Regardless of where you go.”
Ah, so they had noticed Lucina’s furtive looks, her uncertainty on whether they should stay or disappear. Inigo understood the feeling; he’d had it when Anankos had offered him his pick of destinations after saving Nohr. Would it have been better to disappear then or to return to the past? Yet, he hadn’t wanted to separate from the others, not like this. Wherever they ended up, they should all end up together.
And, he had been a little selfish. A little greedy. His mother’s hands were warm as they held his and he didn’t want to let go. Not now, not ever. Inigo had saved three worlds and fought countless battles. He had travelled through time and space and taken down god-like beings. Naga would forgive him for wanting this one thing.
“Do you miss Ferox?” Inigo asked. His other hand reached up to cover his mom’s, so her hand was just as sandwiched as his. This warmth was real, regardless of whether it was for him or for the other Inigo.
Was it possible to be homesick for a place that no longer existed? For a person that was both there and not? This was his home, yet it wasn’t. This was his world, yet it wasn’t.
She was his mother, yet she wasn’t. Severa had once confessed she almost preferred the other, dead world, because she knew exactly where she stood there. It was a simple place: their parents were dead, their world needed rebuilding, they only had each other.
Here, they had everything and nothing. Like cuckoos, they had invaded a nest that wasn’t theirs to begin with.
“Ferox…” Olivia gazed into his eyes, trying to read his intentions. She was an open book to him; was he the same to her? After a few minutes, she averted her gaze and gnawed her lip. “A little.”
Inigo prodded. “A little?”
“A little,” Olivia repeated, louder and stronger now. “I miss Basilio, though I don’t miss his bad jokes. And the cold, I don’t really want that. But I was there for a long time, so it’s like a second home to me.”
“Would you go back?” Inigo asked. His mother never had the chance. The war hadn’t stopped at country lines.
“Maybe. I don’t know.” Olivia shrugged helplessly. “It depends, if your father wants to, maybe. But I also like it here. If we left, I’d miss Ylisse too.”
That wasn’t the answer he was looking for. “But if you had to pick one—”
“Why do I have to pick one?” Olivia raised a brow, confused. “I can just visit.”
“If you couldn’t.” Inigo bit his cheek but pushed on. “If you had to pick one.”
“Then…” Olivia withdrew her hands. He missed them immediately. She rested one palm on her chest, the other on his. “The other place would still be here. I’d miss it, but it’s still with me. Just like how all those dances and songs are still with me.” After a second, she flushed, as though realizing what she said. Quietly, she mumbled, “At least, that’s what I think. Oh, but I’m still picking both. I can see both. I want both.”
If he got his confidence from his father, his greed was from his mother. Even if she didn’t seem like it, she was just as selfish as he was.
It didn’t take away the pain, but it eased it slightly. He licked his lips. “Can I…stay with you? Just a little longer?”
“Of course.” Unlike before, her words were sharp and strong, her response immediate. Olivia’s eyes met his. “For as long as you want. You’ll always have a home with me.”
It was all he needed to hear. There was a sound, a cheer, and Inigo flashed a brilliant smile as he stepped away. “Shall we?”
Olivia’s smile was just as bright as she slipped into her first dance stance.

I'm going to write down all the headcanons I remember from when I watched Phoenix drop high (which was like 7-8 years ago.) I want to preface this with that I did not and still have not gotten past Diaries season one and this series is what brought back my maladaptive daydreaming which is why these headcanons are whack and the maladaptive daydreaming is why I almost became a super senior (But I didn't 🤩)
I was so against Aarmau at the time and so deluded into Larmau that I headcanoned Aaron and Aph as step siblings, which devolved into me making Jeffory and Zenix also their siblings via adoption because they were all my fav characters during PDH. I think this was before Aaron's dad even existed directly in the plot. But I vibe with most ships now besides a few.
Dante and Gene being two of Katelyn's like 8 brothers, so I guess I was thinking Eric/Maria (this was way before the Sylvanna/Eric came into mystreet I believe). Katelyn's mom just never existed in my delulu, just Maria.
Sasha and Travis related. Yes, I only do this based on hair color. I guess little me didn't understand that siblings can have different hair or something whilst my IRL brother and I have different hair, different hair type, different eyes, he has no freckles/I have freckles.
Honestly though, I think Travis would have benefitted from Sasha as an older sibling. He would definitely still be friends with Dante, but at least Travis would be less... Travis-y... I just really hate mystreet Travis after he got out of his awkward freshman phase and I don't like Dante a whole lot if I think about his canon personality. But, I will admit, I have not watched the series in it's entirety for a while, I didn't even finish the most recent season. Maybe I will go back to revise my dislike of Travis, or to rant about him even more.
Heavy Gene/Zenix shipper which occasionally is Gene/Zenix/Sasha. But in the very delulu part of my maladaptive daydreaming I shipped Dante/Sasha. I don't know how to explain why I thought those two would be a good pair, like both chill, both like Gene. What else?
I was and still am a heavy Jefflyn shipper, but what brought me to Jefflyn was not that Aph Laurence Katelyn Jeffory prop hunt minigame that I have watched a hundred times, it was Aaron/Nicole. I don't even know how I explain that. But there was an edit I found years ago of them, so I wasn't the only crack shipper I guess (I couldn't find it 🙁). I can't even remember Nicole besides her being mentioned in a paint minigame and that mystreet date episode. But I don't know, I like fiery personality + chill personality that would go ape shit for their close peoples.
I always like childhood friends trope when it's done well. Aarmau did it well imo, and if Katelyn didn't give the most bs reason for breaking up with an SS tier man they could have been perfect.
I despised Garmau so much that I never rewatched the kiss episode after I watched it the first time, but surprisingly enough, the first fanfic I ever read on wattpad was Travmau. Like I can't explain why I hated Garroth over that 😭, he is my now type (not his mystreet voice). I can't remember if I shipped anyone with him, Lucinda, Cadenza, or pink cat girl that I can't remember the name of and I refuse to use the obvious name. I feel like I would have put Vlad (or whatever Garroth's adopted brother's name is) with pink cat girl and Lucina with Zane and Cadenza with Garroth, to put myself in the delulu mindset again.
I'm too lazy to spell check.

Lucina and her siblings hired themselves as beauty salon workers to get her ready for her date with their father.
Rebecca was getting ready for a date night with Chrom when she heard a knock at her door. She got up and open the door to see her children assembled around her door with Lucina proclaiming that they were going to help their mom get ready for a date with Chrom. She allowed them to walk in and get everything set up.
Lucina had Rebecca lay back in the chair while she and Maria worked on her makeup. Chloe worked on picking out what outfit Rebecca would wear and Sawsan worked on Rebecca's hair. Rebecca was relaxed and allowed the children to work on what they wanted. Their styles differed from each other and it was evident in their work. Lucina chose more shades and colors that didn't quite match each other, Maria chose more of shades based on flowers, Chloe was choosing elegent dresses, and Sawsan chose to style Rebecca's hair with a more formal style in mind.
When they finished, Rebecca sat up, got changed into the dress chosen and then looked into the mirror. She could see the different styles that her daughters chose but even with the differences, it still complimented each other.
"Awww I love it. I know your father will love it too."

Welcome back! <3 What's your opinion on the second generation of Shepards? There are definitely some that could use some more development imo
Thanks for the welcome back!
(Sorry for the long post, I just kept writing and writing lol)
I agree with the sentiment to a certain extent. The second generation I feel are as well written as they could be (especially since time travel is a story tool I'm not fond of), but definitely benefitted from Future Past. Even though the Future Past kids aren't the same exact characters we have, they act as a 'what if' version so I count the development as one and the same.
However, to be a bit specific, one thing about them stood out, and it's indicative of a peculiar, unfortunate aspect of FE13's cast as a whole.
The boys are written with more taste, consistency, and sensitivity than the girls. Though outliers exist (like Lucina and Severa), the second gen girls are kind of cheap? They get more "humorous" supports (i put humorous in quotes cuz I don't find a lot of the jokes funny), and are treated less seriously as a whole.
Cynthia is like a sidekick or guinea pig more than an actual participant in the conversation sometimes (which I guess is funny in an ironic sort of way); Kjelle's supports are really vapid, offering nothing that her mom didn't, and delivered with a less entertaining speech pattern, and there's only a few things worse than being boring to me; Nah... is honestly kind of a mess, teetering between playing the mature straight man, and being the most childish and annoying creature ever (e.g. I hate a lot of Nowi's supports, but Nah's support with Laurent is singularly worse than all of them and is a contender for the worst one in the game); and F!Morgan, while her actions and dialogue are supposed to be cute, I find them to be kind of boundary pushing, alarming, or even downright mean sometimes.
Again, Lucina (some of the best supports in the game period, being varied, having great dialogue) and Severa (her self esteem issues recontextualize every support chain in an artful matter) avoid this, as does Noire for the most part (she's written pretty sincerely as comedic or melancholy when she needs to be), but the four ladies I mentioned beforehand can just be... bleh. Being honest, were it not for Future Past, Cynthia, Nah, and F!Morgan would've been several marks lower. Their peaks are lower than what Inigo, Yarne, Laurent, and Brady provide, and Owain's comedy lands a lot better than theirs as well.
Though, like I said earlier, this is indicative of a larger problem I have with Awakening's writing. Since the game was written with the prospect of being the last, the popular Japanese entertainment tropes were all thrown into the mix, and they tend to be at the expense of the women. Sumia's clumisness, Sully's experience with sexism being kind of surface level (i.e. not something that feels connected to the world of the game), Tharja being Yandere 101, Nowi in general, etc. A third of them comment on being a mess in the kitchen, they blush due to crass comments or outright weirdo requests 3x more often than the men, a good chunk of them are written to get pissed at a drop of a hat, and so on.
Hell, lots of the women in my 'Favorite' or 'Love' tiers on my list, also have 1 or 2 utterly terrible supports that really exemplify this. Lucina's support with F!Robin (when they're not parent and child) is godawful; Maribelle suffers when her subtle desire to be loved or charmed is brought to the forefront (e.g. her support with Virion is like Gray/Clair if Gray was also a noble, and her support with Gregor is very tepid and flavorless when she's usually very entertaining); Cherche and Olivia suffer when they have zero chemistry with their conversation partner; Cordelia suffers when she plays straight into the 'superior perfectionist' bit (Frederick, Donnel), using her conversation partner as a way to vent about Chrom (Frederick again, Henry, Gregor), and outright becomes a nagging mom/wife who cleans up her man with Gaius; and Panne suffers when the writers decide to ignore how her race was enslaved and hunted to near extinction in favor of other characters (often men) getting to play with her ears, cuddling with her fur, or calling her cute when she doesn't want them to.
Most damningly, F!Robin is several marks lower than her male counterpart despite being the same character in-story, because a good deal of her unique supports write her badly (Chrom, Lucina, Aversa, Yarne) or barely at all (Brady, Anna, Owain). Even supports that got a laugh out of me-which is a big accomplishment-like with Lon'qu, still aren't stellar cuz they play on her being almost a caricature; like she's "Robin but a woman (derogatory)" instead of just... a version of Robin.

(FE: Engage) Alear / Crossover Emblem Rings
Honestly, I couldn't really think of anything unique for a reverse situation, so instead, I raise you Alear meeting even more crossovers, cause apparently I can never escape my insatiable hunger for mixing games/show together.
Hope you enjoy, @unknownsymbol367!
Awakening:
(Vander) "Hm. I have never heard of this Emblem, but perhaps we should go ahead with the incantation?"
Alear nodded.
(Alear) "May all your blessings find their way their way to us, Emblem of the Witch!"
From the ring burst forward a giant being of steel, alongside a small red haired girl. She began to panic as her arms flailed in a pattern.
(Suletta) "I-IT CAN FLY! IT CAN DANCE! AERIAL!"
She froze in a pose with arms outstretched, clearly panting and showing signs that she was about to fall over. Which was impressive, given she was just a manifestation and not a physical being.
(Alear) "..."
(Vander) "..."
(Suletta) "..."
Alear and Vander stared at the girl silently, not entirely sure what to make of the situation.
(Alear) "...M-My name is Alear, and this is Vander. We require your help miss...Aerial?"
(Suletta) "U-U-Um...! Aerial is my sister. M-M-My name is S-Suletta!"
(Vander) "Are you alright? You seem to be sweating a concerning amount."
Alear rose her eyebrow in confusion, silently whispering to the side.
(Alear) "...Marth, are you able to sweat?"
(Marth) "No, we're not...Just a moment."
Marth floated over to Suletta, which she recoiled at the sight of him suddenly materializing in front of them. However, the steel giant known as "Aerial" seemed to have its eyes glow in response.
(Marth) "I am Emblem Marth, we are on a mission to defeat the Fell Dragon. May we count on both of you?"
Suletta looked incredibly nervous before looking at Aerial, whose eyes flashed again. Though no one heard any noise come from the being, Suletta suddenly had a determined expression.
(Suletta) "Right, if I run, I gain one. Move forward, and gain two!"
(Alear) "Hah, I think I quite like that saying. We're lucky to have you!"
===
Supports:
===
Alear
(Suletta) "I heard your mother was a wonderful person. I-I'm really sorry to hear what happened..."
(Alear) "Thank you, Suletta. I'm glad you still have your mother, and your sister to support you."
...
(Alear) "Suletta, I swear I'm hearing someone else talk to me whenever it's just us..."
(Suletta) "Hm? Oh, that's just Aerial saying hello! She's louder on some days more than others."
===
Clanne
(Suletta) "W-wow! You're so young! Reminds me of Chuchu..."
(Clanne) "From what I've heard of your friend, I don't want to make her angry...!"
...
(Clanne) "You say you pilot Aerial? That must take an incredible strain on your body."
(Suletta) "I've never really noticed a physical strain on myself with Aerial before. I-Is that normal? T-There's nothing wrong with me r-right?!"
===
Chloé
(Chloé) "You always seem so cheerful when having lunch with us, Suletta. I only wish we could let you have some of the local cuisine as well!"
(Suletta) "T-Thank you for the offer miss Chloé, b-but I must decline! Grilled rat seems..." shudders
===
Rosado
(Rosado) "Aerial looks absolutely adorable! But, I think she could use a few more ribbons on her. What do you say, Suletta?"
(Suletta) "Adorable? I don't think I've heard anyone call her that. Maybe we can spruce the cockpit up? I'm afraid the ribbons might get burnt up by the beams or the thrusters..."
===
Lucina
(Lucina) "Hah, looking at you talk to Aerial reminds me of my own family."
(Suletta) "Do you think my mom can meet yours? I'm sure she'd love to meet them!"
===
Victory Quotes:
"It can fly, it can dance! Aerial!"
"Move forward, gain two!"
"The only result is the truth!"
Awakening:
Alear, Marth and Vander looked at the ring with growing concern. What kind of ring to help defeat the Fell Dragon would be called the "Emblem of Calamity"? And the incantation didn't help put aside fears either.
Alear sighed before he nodded. It's better they have it than the enemy.
(Alear) "Devour our foes, Emblem of Calamity!"
A long black haired woman emerged from the ring, clothes and cape visibly torn as she stoically turned towards the group.
(Velvet) "...Who are you supposed to be?"
(Alear) "My name is Alear. We're on a mission to defeat the Fell Dragon, thus we have summoned you."
(Velvet) "You know my title and you still chose to summon me? You're clearly desperate."
(Vander) "You will not address the Divine One that way!"
Velvet's eyes glanced over to Vander, visibly getting more annoyed.
(Velvet) "If you want my help, then suck it up. Or should I eat you too?"
(Marth) "We can all be friends, Miss Velvet."
(Velvet) "I'm not here to make friends. I just want one person in my world dead...Alear, right? What is your plan for the world once this Fell Dragon is gone?"
(Alear) "To work towards a brighter future?"
(Velvet) "Not dictated by reason?"
(Alear) "Dictated by...? N-No. Peace."
(Velvet) "...I suppose that'll do for now. Let's get moving."
(Alear) "Thank you, Velvet."

Supports:

Alear
(Alear) "You put up such a harsh exterior, but you're quite kind! I've seen how you speak with Jean and Clan-"
(Velvet) "Tch, I have no idea what you're talking about. Spread any rumours like that, and I won't hesitate to eat you."
...
(Velvet) "I appreciate that you clean your own room despite having servants. Not a half bad job of keeping it tidy, either."
(Alear) "It just never felt right to me, letting someone else do all the work...Y-You're glaring at my bed pretty badly there. Is something wrong?"
(Velvet) "Who ironed your bed? It's covered in wrinkles! You need to properly-..."
(Alear) "Hah, Velvet, it's all right!...V-Velvet? Wow, she's still going on about the proper technique..."
...
Jean
(Jean) "ACK! H-Hi, Velvet...D-Did I do something wrong? You're staring at me."
(Velvet) "...Nothing. Sorry."
===
Alcryst
(Velvet) "I'm only gonna say this once. Knock it off with that self deprecating crap and you mean the world to your brother."
(Alcryst) "H-Huh? But-"
(Velvet) "Shut up and let me finish. In a war like this, you don't know what will happen. So cherish the time you have with him, and remember he'd never forgive himself if you get yourself killed."
(Alcryst) "...R-Right." ...Why did she look so sad saying that?
===
Louis
(Velvet) "...Watch where your eyes wander, Louis, or else I'll gouge them out."
(Louis) "Oh, apologies if I have offended you, Velvet! I was merely observing the way you speak to others."
(Velvet) "Tch, even Phi has more tact than you..."
===
Kagetsu
(Kagetsu) "Ah, thank you for the sparring, Velvet! It was quite the thrill to finally fight you!"
(Velvet) "Hmph. You remind me of someone back home..."
===
Goldmary
(Goldmary) "Have you no shame, Velvet? I must acquire you a new set of clothes this instant! With my taste, you'll be wowing men in no ti-"
(Velvet) "Touch my clothes, and I'll eat you."
===
Bunet
(Bunet) "Why, your recipe has come out spectactularly! How did you acquire such skills?!"
(Velvet) "Heh, I learned from my sister, who learned it from my mother. All of our cooking is passed down. Too bad I can't cook it myself...Not that I could taste it anyway."
===
Victory Quotes:
"No mercy!"
"Show's over."
"Is that all? That was barely a fight."
Awakening:
Alear felt a burning rage from within the ring just holding it. Whoever was inside would make a strong ally indeed.
(Alear) "Receive us, O Emblem of the Dragon!"
A man in a gray suit slowly rose from the ring, turning and cracking his knuckles.
(Kiryu) "My name is Kiryu Kazuma."
(Alear) "Kiryu, it's nice to meet you. I'm Alear, we need your help in defeating the Fell Dragon."
Kiryu nodded and stepped forward.
(Kiryu) "There's room for only one dragon in this world."
Alear awkwardly coughed as Vander and Marth smiled. Straightforward, but he was at least easy to work with.
Supports:
===
Alear
(Alear) "Your fighting style is incredible, Kiryu! Do you think you can teach me some of your moves?"
(Kiryu) "I'm no teacher. And your fighting isn't something to sell short either."
...
(Kiryu) "So, you're a real dragon?"
(Alear) "That I am...Well, rather I'm told that. The Divine Dragon, specifically but honestly? I don't feel that different."
(Kiryu) "I see..." (How did I even get to this point in my life...?)
===
Etie
(Etie) "WOAH! Your muscles are so dang ripped! You gotta tell me your workout regime!"
(Kiryu) "I've never had a woman ask me that before...Well, I suppose it wouldn't hurt, considering our circumstances..."
===
Alfred
(Kiryu) "Why do you keep staring at my arms?"
(Alfred) "Huh? Oh! S-Sorry, your biceps are massive! Can I feel them?"
(Kiryu) "That certainly explains Etie..."
===
Jade
(Jade) "Kiryu, may I trouble you for your experiences in the...How do you say, yah-koo-zuh?"
(Kiryu) "There's nothing funny about the life we lead. It only leads to misery, so I'm afraid I can't help you with your ideas."
===
Anna
(Anna) "You just throw your money out to distract people?! Talk about a waste!"
(Kiryu) "Aren't you a little young to be worrying about that kind of thing?"
===
Pandreo
(Pandreo) "Holy smokes, Kiryu! You got a KILLER singing voice!"
(Kiryu) "Heh, I've been told I have a passion for karaoke. I doubt anyone understood what I was saying, but I'm glad you enjoyed it."
===
Byleth
(Byleth) "People keep telling me I have a hard to read face."
(Kiryu) "Hm, I do as well. I'm not exactly sure how to change that..."
===
Victory Quotes:
"Want to die? THEN STEP UP!"
"That's rad."
"Kakatte koi!"
Awakening:
(Alear) "Accept our mission, Emblem of the Soldier!"
Electricity shot out of the ring, as a man slowly stood up from all fours, bandana flowing in the wind.
(Snake) "This is Snake. Kept you waiting, huh?"
(Alear) "I'm Alear. We need your help in defeating the Fell Dragon."
(Snake) "Any backup?"
(Alear) "Plenty. You have me, and the rest of the army at your side!"
Snake looked to Alear, Marth, and Vander.
(Snake) "An army, huh? Not used to fighting in a unit this big. But, sounds fine to me. What's my first mission, Colonel?"
Supports:
===
Alear
(Alear) "If I may ask, why exactly do you call me Colonel?"
(Snake) "Feels more comfortable than me calling someone "Divine One" all the time. Besides, you don't like that title much either, right?"
(Alear) "Hah, fair point."
...
(Alear) "You want me to do what in that box?"
(Snake) "Sit inside it and hide. It works a lot better than you think it does."
===
Framme
(Snake) "You know, you remind me a lot of a girl I know named Sunny. She's just as positive as you."
(Framme) "I'll take that as a compliment, mister Snake!"
Lapis
(Snake) "You make your own gear on the field? Impressive."
(Lapis) "Oh, I doubt it's as impressive as anything you'd make, Snake. Mine are just little knick knacks and things to make life a little more convenient."
Yunaka
(Yunaka) "Wow, you're a lot deadlier than you look."
(Snake) "Could say the same to you, Yunaka. You're smart to hide that fact...Even if it is a little obvious."
Zelkov
(Zelkov) "Snake, you are quite the enigma of a man."
(Snake) "Can't say I have a straightforward past. I can probably guess the same for you." ...Why is he speaking like that?
Fogado
(Fogado) "So, you say you don't believe in the supernatural when you see monsters rising up and us using magic?"
(Snake) "In my world, I don't. Here, I can understand the magic at least, so that means I can fight it."
===

So how did Freddie feel when Chrom first became the ruler of Ylisse? When he finally became Exalt? Did he try to reassure him he didn't NEED to get married and provide an heir before he was ready? Listen Freddie is the closest Chrom and Lissa have to a dad and I wanna hear about how much he cried over baby Lucina's birth--
Fred is at this weird crossroads between father figure, older brother, and bodyguard for all the Ylissean royal siblings and it's such a fun dynamic to try and navigate. They're good found family brent
I think given the circumstances of Chrom taking the throne... Lots of mixed feelings. He's feeling the loss of Emmeryn very deeply at that time. He was also privvy to a lot of Emm's struggles becoming Exalt at a young age and, while he knows Chrom is a young man and much more equipped to handle it, and that Ylisse is faring much better now overall, Fred would worry. A lot. As he is wont to do. It's a lot of sudden political responsibility for a man who's grieving a sister and who had assumed he would just be running a militia for the foreseeable future.
Re the marriage and heir stuff... Well. Gestures at all my Fred headcanons. Fredcanons. I think Fred would put so little stock into this OooOOoo produce an heir already talk that if it were up to him Chrom would never even hear about it. It's all just bullshit. Chrom has a halidom to run. Anyone hemming and hawing about succession and propriety can go to hell. If Chrom ever mentioned it around Fred, Fred would say as much, though in much more diplomatic tones.
I fully believe that if this setting has a concept of godfathers, then Chrom would ask Fred to be Lucina's godfather. And Fred would bawl his eyes out about it. When he gets it together he would probably get real sarcastic about being assigned babysitter to yet another royal kid, and poke a lot of fun at Chrom and Lissa, but he's so touched. Definitely turns into a big tearful mess when Lucina is actually born. He's only known Lucina for five minutes, but if anything happened to her, etc.
I imagine Frederick is normally cagey about bringing his family anywhere near his job because of Appearances... But you can bet your last dollar he finds a way to get At Minimum his mom (and probably lots more folk) to visit Ylisstol to meet his goddaughter. Cause like are you kidding me? You think he's not gonna go gung-ho on his new role?? You think the whole Frederick family ain't gonna adopt Lucina just cause she's the princess??? Nonsense. Fred's a godfather and Luci's got an extended family now. You too Chrom and Lissa you aren't escaping this.
The castle nobility is in shambles watching a bunch of commoners interacting with and probably celebrating about the royal baby Inside The Castle. But it's not like they can do anything about it. Their boss the exalt okayed it, and he's a dragon-blessed war hero divinely appointed to rule them or whatever, so they have to just let it happen.
#fe awakening#frederick#this got kind of off track but that's par for the course when someone mentions fred within five miles of me lol

i adore frederick/tharja, because combined with henry/lissa and chrom/robin, three really important people have plegian spouses and you can bet when anti-plegian sentiment was at an all time high in lucina's timeline, everyone came up with rumors about how they were double agents meant to seduce, then kill the monarchs for gangrel to subjugate them. and that lucina, and morgan, and owain are all future puppet rulers.
plus, i think it gives more drama to henry/lissa because now the princess of the kingdom is falling for not only a commoner (gasp), but also a dark mage from the opposing kingdom (double gasp)
and also because tharja and chrom and lissa should be friends because being terrorized by frederick and worrying about robin are grounds for being practically siblings
and also because the idea of childhood friends noire and owain appeals to me greatly. and also can you imagine noire!ophelia? i feel like she'd love her grandma because they're both dark mages.
though then ophelia wouldn't exist in fateslandia because she'd be with her mom...but deeprealms are terrible plot devices so honestly, i just prefer to think it's the same scenario as awakening where she comes back in time and in that world, noire came along

The only reason people find Chrom "more interesting" than Lucina is their want to fuck him. There, I said it. Y'all only care that he’s dumb. If he was Lucina’s mom and not her no-titted dad, you wouldn't care. But no, he’s your himbo. That's why you prefer him. And you're all transparent as fuck, given how much of his fanfics have given him way more personality than his flat self has in canon.
